1. Data Stored on Your Device

All core data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database and is never uploaded to any server:

• Transactions (income, expenses, transfers)
• Accounts and balances
• Categories
• Saving goals
• Income sources
• Profile name and currency preference
• Receipt images from Smart Scan

This data is only accessible to you. If you uninstall the app, all local data is permanently deleted.

2. Data We Collect

We collect a minimal amount of anonymous data to improve the app:

a) Scan Logs (Anonymous)

When you use Smart Scan to scan a receipt, we may log the following to improve our categorisation accuracy:

• OCR-extracted text from the receipt
• Detected and confirmed amounts, merchants, and categories
• Timestamp

This data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you. No account IDs, device IDs, or personal identifiers are included.

b) Feedback

If you choose to submit feedback from within the app, we collect:

• Your mood rating and comment
• Your name (only if you provide it — optional)
• Platform and OS version

c) Crash Reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports. This includes:

• Stack traces and error logs
• Device model and OS version
• App version

No personal or financial data is included in crash reports.

3. Gemini AI (Smart Scan)

If you enable Gemini AI in Settings, receipt images are sent to Google's Gemini API for parsing. This uses your own API key — we do not proxy or store these requests. Google's Terms of Service and privacy policy apply to that data.

4. Third-Party Services

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose beyond what is described in this policy.

6. Data Retention

• Local data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
• Scan logs: Retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Feedback: Retained for up to 12 months.
• Crash reports: Retained per Firebase Crashlytics' default retention policy (90 days).

7. Your Rights

Since your financial data is stored only on your device, you have full control over it. You can:

• Export your data at any time from Settings
• Delete all data by uninstalling the app
• Request deletion of scan logs or feedback by contacting us

8. Children's Privacy

SaveWise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
